Healthier Homemade Nutella

What you need

cup dark chocolate

tsp vanilla extract

tsp kosher salt

0 Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. 1 Lay hazelnuts in an even layer on a large sheet pan and roast for 10-15 minutes. 2 Let the hazelnuts cool to the touch, then transfer them to a kitchen towel. 3 Fold the kitchen towel over the hazelnuts and rub them back and forth with the towel until most of the skins have come off. You may only remove half to three quarters of them, that's okay, but the more that come off the smoother the nutella will be. 4 Place the hazelnuts in the bowl of a food processor and blend for 5-6 minutes, scraping down the sides as necessary, until you have a creamy hazelnut butter. Taste it, it should be smooth. 5 Add the vanilla, melted chocolate, and salt and blend for another minute until fully incorporated. 6 Store in lidded jars at room temperature for 2-3 weeks.View original recipe
