1. Halve or quarter your cucumbers lengthwise, depending on the size, and set aside. 2. Combine the 2 cups of vinegar, hot water, maple syrup, and salt and stir to dissolve the syrup and salt. 3. Pack your cucumber spears tightly into tall glass jars, sitting them upright. Nestle in the sliced garlic. 4. Add the whole spices and fresh dill to the jars, nestling them in. 5. Pour the vinegar brine over the pickles coming up about ⅔ of the way. 6. Add cold water to cover, leaving 1-2 inches at the top. 7. Refrigerate for at least a few days; the longer they sit in the fridge, the stronger the pickled flavor. Enjoy!
